A great distinction!
A light installation called "Beacon" - the work of an exceptional and recognized Polish artist, Karolina Halatek, broke the world record and entered in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest LED Lighting structure in the world. Almost 2,000 meters of Neonica LED strips and approximately 300,000 LEDs with a neutral light color were used in this project.

Beacon - a unique large-format sculpture
The light installation presented at the Noor Riyadh Festival of Light and Art in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) is monumental. From the outside, it acts like a beacon, and from the inside, it offers a cozy, intimate space that you can enter and immerse yourself in a dazzling pillar of white LED light aimed towards the sky. The structure is supposed to evoke lofty associations connecting heaven and earth, and in addition, the clouds of smoke floating around allow to strengthen spiritual and sensory experiences.

Why Neonica?
The uniform, homogenous and solid LED light used to create this monumental sculpture was the key to success. Karolina Halatek has devoted a lot of time to searching for the best quality LED strips available on the market. As the artist claims in her interview (read the entire interview), the biggest problem in implementing this project was obtaining the same color of light for the entire structure. All of the samples provided by other suppliers did not met the expectations.

Another challenge was the appropriate durability of the LED strips to be used in this construction. The structure was designed and made up in Poland, from where it had to travel a long way. First to Naples in Italy and then by sea to Saudi Arabia. Any on-site repair of non-working LED strips would be unacceptable and an immense risk of failure for the entire project.

The team of engineers of Neonica taking into account all the above requirements and guidelines advised the most optimal solution.

To carry out this project was used Neonica’s LED Strip 2216 900 with a color temperature of 4000 K and a color deviation not exceeding two McAdams steps.
